The Cloud MakerPosted by Sean Bailey (Phoenixville, United States) on 2 February 2007 in Miscellaneous and Portfolio. Every time we go past the Limerick power plant, my daughter calls it the cloud maker. I liked the title and now it's an entry.

Paul Ricciardi from West Hartford, United StatesIt is a nice title. 2 Feb 2007 2:55pm @Paul Ricciardi: I had detail in the original shot, but I like this look much better. This seems much more ominous and foreboding. Alfredo J. Martiz J. from Tokyo, JapanI like the title, but its sad that the reality is pollution. Anyway, nice composition 2 Feb 2007 4:19pm Fred from Easton PA, United StatesWe have a similar scene at the PP&L plant in my home town. At first I thought this was it . 2 Feb 2007 5:04pm Jerry from Tampa, United StatesGRAND shot Sean! This is excellent! The tones are marvelous! Very well done! 2 Feb 2007 9:46pm Damon Schreiber from Toronto, CanadaWonderful work! Just sparkling and magical; I can see why your daughter calls them that. Has a majestic yet ominous feeling. 2 Feb 2007 9:57pm Chris Sullivan from Melbourne, AustraliaNice title for such an ominous building, especially more recently with the global-warming debate. Fantastic photo, the strong contrasts work beautifully as does your framing with the twisted tree branches on the right side. Great stuff Sean! 3 Feb 2007 12:59am Michael Zhang from New York City, United StatesAhhh excellent. You have the light peaking through the clouds, the smoke, the silhouettes, and those jarring three branches coming in from the right. Great photograph and strong message. 3 Feb 2007 1:15am Colour blind from Tokyo, Japaneeeeewwwww, disgusting power plants but then again I couldn't charge my camera batteries without them. Explosive contrast with the tree but at the same time very complimenting due to the nakedness of the limbs. You've got the composition down with this one mate. 3 Feb 2007 11:19am M.E. from Encino, United Statesan environmentalist could use this photograph and deliver a very strong message. 3 Feb 2007 3:10pm Daniel from United StatesNice shot. You might like looking at Micheal Kenna's work. Don't remember the website offhand, but if you google the name he'll come up. 3 Feb 2007 4:31pm Russ D. from Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania, United StatesNice silhouette, Sean. I also like the detail in the condensate plume rising from the cooling towers of the nuclear power plant. I also like how you captured the sun beams descending from the clouds above. 4 Feb 2007 4:57am Duncan Galbraith from kyoto, Japanbrilliant. better and better. sublime work Sean. 4 Feb 2007 4:02pm Maria from bruges, Belgiumhahaaaa...
