Emmy and I ventured out to Valley Forge Park the other day after it snowed. We were completely surprised when we went into one of the cabins and there were actors inside with a fire burning. They were there to inform us of the cramped and poor living conditions when the cabins were used during the Revolutionary War.

Interesting experience. What a cold day this appears to be. What must it have really been like, to have no heated cars, no central heat or furnaces to warm our toasty little homes? Just the fireplaces inside drafty damp cabins.
